“Spring Nostalgia” 2023 Print
This 8.5x11” matted to 11x14” print is the view of Lone Mountain from the original 1995 tram dock, featuring the two tram cars above Dobe’s Exit and the Big Couloir.
I wanted to capture the dreamy, magical quality of a sunny spring day on Lone Mountain: so blue it hurts your eyes, wide couloirs filled with still cold snow, and the knowledge that there’s only a few weeks left until it all melts away making you savor every turn a little bit more. All of this is made only more sentimental this year, with the final days riding the Lone Peak Tram before it is removed and replaced next season.
It’s hard to photograph watercolors well and convey the true colors. I photographed these prints in a few lights so you can get the best sense of what it looks like in real life! In general, I think they look a little bit brighter and bluer in real life, with more gradient contrast. They’re all signed, and the title is in the bottom left corner, under the matting if you choose to use it so you can decide if you want it visible or not.
All my prints are made locally by another small business owner on what he states is “the best fine art printing paper on the market”—and I agree! Printed on textured, thick paper and with true to life colors, these prints look as good as the original. The print comes with archival quality backing, white or black matting, and a plastic cover—largely to protect it during shipping, but it makes for easy framing too.
As always, thank you for supporting my small business, each order absolutely makes my day!
